I hope this finds you all safe and well.
I wish this email comes with better tidings in regards to getting out on a court again but unfortunately it does not.
This email is just an update of where we, and the whole competition, are in this current lockdown, the number of which I honestly do no remember…
Basketball landscape/State of play
With the likelihood of this current lockdown being extended yet again the likelihood for getting out onto court again this season sadly diminishes. As with all basketball-playing related decisions we await for instructions to trickle down the grapevine: State Government, Basketball Victoria, McKinnon Basketball Association, Us, You. We will pass on all important information as quickly as we can.
We are also in discussion about how the Summer 2021/22 season will look so those details will be out shortly.
Reaching Out
Basketball matters aside, I would like for us to really focus on being a community:
Coaches I’d like to ask the coaches to reach out to their teams, whether it be a zoom meeting, a short phone call, or a text message by whatever social platform medium these young folk use nowadays. I did a zoom meeting with my U14’s team last week and some of the parents told me it really lifted the spirits of their kids who had been pretty flat.
Teammates Even teammates who may not normally communicate outside of the team, please consider reaching out to your team/coach.
